FAQ

  • What made you want to hike the PCT?
My boss while I was a ski instructor first told me about the trail. Matt told me that he took the summer off and hiked the trail with his two adorable huskies and his girlfriend. He told me it took him around six months and that he lost a lot of weight and ate a lot. Matt carried a ring along with him in a box of cigarettes (nether of them smoke so it was a great hiding spot) and he proposed at the end of their journey. His story left an impression on me and I decided that it was the next thing I was going to do with my life!

  •  I understand that, but WHY do you WANT to walk that far!?
That can only be answered in George Mallory's words, "Because it is there"

  • What are you doing for food?
I am mostly shipping myself home cooked, vegetarian, dehydrated meals. There are many perks to making most of my meals. The obvious one is the price. I can cook, dehydrate and package three days worth of chili for around 8 dollars. however, even when buying bulk, precooked meals are around 7-10 dollars a meal. Another perk of making my own meals is being able to reduce my waste. Instead of having three meals worth of Vacuum seal bags, I have one that holds breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack. I'm also able to buy bulk at the supermarket saving even more packaging. Lastly, I am able to customize whatever I want to eat.
I will also have a page dedicated to my recipies and processes to cooking my meals once I completely prefect it!

  • Can I send you gifts and cards while you're on trail?
Absolutely! Most of my resupplies will be at the towns United States Post Office. But I will have up to date information, including addresses, examples, and arrival dates on the page tiled "Itinerary". However please be mindful of what your sending, as I will have to carry it. Good things to send: Letters, Pictures, Candy bars. Bad things: Bricks, Gaming computers, 500 page hard back novels about the War of 1812. I would be heartbroken to leave your gifts behind or have to return them.

Keep asking me questions!
