Post Royal Lake

Backpacking was awesome this weekend! Jacob and I had a very relaxing four hour hike up to Royal Lake. We passed a couple of downed trees and a lot of ice. Once we made it to the lake we walked around in amazement of the beauty! Truly a spectacular sight, these photos don't do it justice! We set up camp next to a pile of snow pack and had some homemade camp chili and trail apple pie. It hit the spot! We then hid from the cold in our sleeping bags for a couple of hours until the sun went all the way down. When we woke up the already beautiful landscape had be transformed by the night sky. There wasn't a cloud in sight and we were able to take some pretty amazing pictures before going back to bed. The next morning we got our freezing bodies from the tent. The water we had just next to us in the tent, was frozen. After making Jacob cuddle with the ice bag, we enjoyed our granola and packed up. Just to give you an idea of how cold it was that morning, the fresh water I brought up to fill our packs with was frozen 10 minutes after it was filtered. VERY COLD. All that remained was a beautiful and quick hike out.
Thanks Jacob for coming along!

Climbing day

Good day for climbing! Tyler, Jared and I went climbing at Little Si today and it was cool! All three of us pushed our limits and had a great time!

Mailbox Peak

Awesome day out today! It was cloudy and rainy the whole way up. Once we made it to the top it started snowing. On our way down the sun started to break through the fog and the trees for some pretty awesome sun rays! Overall it was a great day out! Thanks Ayana!
