Day one and two!

The PCT is amazing! My uncle Alan dropped me off early Monday morning and I started my hike with two other hikers. I stopped to rest around mile 6 for a quarter of an hour then continued on. Around 10:00a.m. I met a man from London named William and we have been hiking for a while. We took a break and talked to a couple hikers as they passed. After a brutal hike in the afternoon Sun we stopped under a tree to wait out the sun with Big Fish and Firecracker. A hour after I took off from our shady oasis I arrived at my first stop 20 miles in. We set up camp and made a fire witch attracted many of the other PCT hikers. The next day everything was frosted over from the freezing night. We hiked another 10 miles and set up under a tree with two other hikers to wait out the sun.

Day Zero

Sorry there has been no updates as of yet guys! On the drive down to Campo California I used most of my phone battery and when I went to plug it in my phone wouldn't charge! So this is the first time I've had access to a computer!

MCCA trip to Mexico

Today, my uncle Alan invited me to join him and his church's mission to deliver food to several orphanages in Mexico. My group had two vehicles filled with rice, beans, oil, milk, eggs, chicken, and flower and we visited seven different orphanages. There were five groups that went to 30 orphanages. We met up at 5:00a.m. on a Saturday and went past the border to a local super store to pick up the food. It was an incredibly humbling experience and I am grateful to the Mission for letting me be a part of their team. I am lucky to make such an amazing impact in our world. Here is the missions link.

Thanks!

There are so many thanks that I have to give out.  I know I'm going to miss some but you have not gone unnoticed and I am so grateful for everyone's support!

There are a few that have made a big impact on my trip. First off I have to thank my mom for supporting me from the start. She will be handling all of my resupply packages which is a lot of work! Jacob Carrillo, my main man, has pushed me to get the meals done on time, helped put food into the dehydrators, and has just been by my side through my whole preparation process. Carrissa Trapp for preparing two months of resupply packages for the sections she will be on trail with me, and for agreeing to drive me to my Damien Rice concert (I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!). My Uncle Alan, for agreeing to drive me all the way down to the start of the trail and planning the most amazing pre-trip trip ever. And Elise Loura for housing me in Boulder, Colorado for over a week.

Laura Martinez, Susan Osborn, Heather Jordan, Stephanie Van Arnam, Jane and Fritz Loura,  and Carly Higginbotham. Thank you so much for taking such a extreme passion for my adventure. You have all fueled my passion and drive for attempting the trail. I really hope you will stay in touch and keep giving me positive reinforcement! Ether by mail, email, or on here!

Lastly, everyone else in my life or on this blog. Your interest and support is undoubtedly the coolest thing ever. I have this blog here to inspire people to get out and enjoy our world. So please keep supporting me, going outside, and respecting the world we live in!
(If you do go outside, leave it better than you found it)

First day in Boulder Colorado

Last night I left Tacoma for my trip! Today was my first day in Boulder, Colorado and it was amazing. The sun was out all day and it was almost 80 degrees! I spent most of the day in a hammock, but my good friend Elise took me out for a birthday dinner! Thanks Elise!

Making mush

Dehydrating has turned into a full time job! Today I am at 55 meals and the process is very monotonous. Cutting the onions has to be the worst part, but the pile of food is very exciting! 23 more days!

Meal Making

I've started my dehydrating frenzy this week. It's really weird thinking I will be on trail in just over a month! Anyways, my dehydrator will be running non-stop in between now and whenever I'm done, or its time to get on the plain! Making Mush isn't fun!
